Unico: The Fantastic Adventures

"The Fantastic Adventures of Unico" was the first film to be produced by Madhouse for Tezuka Productions in 1981. As the first release made available in english, this Unico story also featured an alternate introduction where Unico is taken from his mother. Among some of the original manga stories by Tezuka woven together in this animated retelling were "Lonely Unico", and "Cat On A Broom". The vast array of characters in the Unico features may be due to the fact that it was originally intended to be produced as a series.
